On Saturday, May 12th, The Volcano Village Artists Hui presents “Artists in Action”, their annual day of free demonstrations and hands on activities for the community and visitors. This year, participants will have the opportunity to explore the Art of Collage (assemblages of cut out images and paper), with Debra Serrao and Cynee Gillette-Wenner. The Art Hui will provide materials, or bring your own special photos or images to incorporate into your collage. There will also be demonstrations of wheel thrown pottery by Erik Wold, assembling an endangered bird teapot with Emily Herb, and Ira Ono will entertain with his demonstration of create Japanese paste paper. It’s all free and fun for the entire family. “Artists in Action” will be held on the beautiful grounds of Volcano Garden Arts, 19-3834 Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. A delicious gourmet lunch will be available for purchase from Cafe Ono. For more info, call 985-8979.
